Daiquiri

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the daiquiri is a sickly-sweet frozen concoction served to the elderly aboard cruise ships, because that’s what the last few decades have made of it.

Travel back in time to its origins at the turn of the last century, though, and you’ll find an entirely different drink. The real thing is a classic sour, perfectly balanced, a drink that truly deserves a resurgence in cocktail culture.

INGREDIENTS

2 oz Light rum

2 oz Laffite’s Gold Margarita Mix

Garnish: Lime Wedge

INSTRUCTIONS

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled glass or a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a wedge or wheel of lime.
