Old Cuban
Circa 2001 – New York City: a variation of a Mojito but substituting Champagne /Sparkling Water instead of Sparkling Water.
INGREDIENTS8 mint leaves (depending upon size of leaves – use more leaves if tiny)
2 oz Rum
2 oz Lafitte’s Gold Margarita Mix
3 dash Bitters (Optional)
Champagne / Sparkling Wine
Garnish: mint sprig and lime wheel
INSTRUCTIONSMuddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a tall glass, then add rum and stir. Fill glass with ice and then top with Champagne or Sparkling Water. Garnish with mint and lime wheel.
