A twist on a ManhattanINGREDIENTS
1 piece orange peel
2 oz red wine (any varietal works: Shiraz, Pinot Noir, whatever you have on hand)
1 oz Bourbon
1 Tbsp Laffite’s Gold Simple Syrup
Garnish: Cherries (brandied if you have them)
Rub the orange peel around the lip of a chilled coupé glass or ‘on the rocks’ glass, and discard the peel. Add a big sphere of ice to the glass, or just fill it with ice cubes. Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into the glass. Garnish with some brandied cherries.
